Many of us start our quest for better health and fitness with great expectations, only to look back a few months later and wonder where we went wrong, how we could have missed so many workouts, or fallen back into old habits. A recent study by the Association for Talent Development found one critical factor that many people leave out of their journey is accountability. 

According to this study, the researchers found the following probabilities of success for completing goals: 

10%  Having a general idea of a goal in your mind
25%  Consciously deciding to yourself to do it
40% Deciding when you will do it
50% Laying out a personal plan
65% Committing to someone that you will do it
95% Having specific accountability appointments with someone you’ve committed to
