Greetings and welcome to the Talent Trust web site.
Recently, whilst redesigning this web site, I started to ask myself how we might help our visitors make better informed decisions concerning their medical insurance needs. Experience has shown us that nearly everyone has (perhaps subconsciously) four questions that need answering. I shall therefore try to pre-empt them with answers for you now.
Why do I need medical insurance? - The fact that you are here, reading this, probably means that this question has already been answered. However, it does not hurt to remind you that everyone needs a way to protect themselves from today’s crippling medical treatment costs. Insurance coverage not only helps meet our responsibility to family, but also protects us whilst serving overseas on the mission field. In the past, we have seen the burden of uninsured claims lead to ministries having to be shut down, simply because the team could no longer meet a local hospital’s legally enforced demands for payment. Our insurance programs could have easily prevented that from happening as our underwriters’ Guarantee of Payment is acceptable throughout the world.
Why should I buy coverage from Talent Trust? - Started in 1991, Talent Trust Consultants was founded on the principles seen in our Lord’s 'Parable of the Talents' (Matthew 25:14-30). Are the premiums fair and reasonable? - Our ministry provides unique, quality medical insurance at affordable rates and acts as intercessor between its members and the underwriters at Aetna Global Benefits, one of America’s largest insurers rated ‘A’ (Excellent) by Standard & Poor’s. On average our premiums are only about 60% of what would be normal in a member’s home country. This is achieved by our members’ good stewardship and wise consideration of their NCB (No Claims Bonus) that rewards good stewards with up to a 35% discount. Not only that, we also have our own Ministry Fund that helps meet small claims costs that fall outside the rules of the legal contract, but within the spirit of our ministry.
Why should I enroll with Talent Trust now? - Simply put, there are no better programs available at the cost ...at any cost! For those serving overseas the only alternative is travel insurance, which, by its very nature, falls short when it comes to covering a claim after its first year (travel cover, being separate annual policies, means that any previous medical condition or claim is automatically classified and rejected as pre-existing). Therefore, if you plan to serve long-term, please do not make the mistake of buying travel insurance and then trying to transfer later, when you find it fails to meet your needs ...it could prove very costly. Likewise, for home based church workers, our wonderful premium cost advantage is an obvious incentive; one that puts good medical coverage back within financial reach.
