1. Except in an emergency situation, all treatment in the United States should be received at a medical facility with in Aetna’s Preferred Provider Network (PPO).

2. For pre-notification and pre-authorization of claim in the United States, please contact +1 866 545 3252 and not any other number (Please note some medical providers may have an Aetna office on “speed dial.” However, this will be an Aetna domestic office, and they will not have access to your policy information).

3. For planned admission, please pre-notify the claims office. Please note that it can take at least 5 days in order to set up a direct billing arrangement with a medical provider, so we recommend that you contact Aetna at least 5 days in advance of your planned admission.

Some providers may have bulk shipping of claims documents to Aetna’s domestic offices, if your claim is sent to one of these offices, it will not be processed correctly, causing delays in the claims process.
